The role of the Directorate of Learning Teaching and Student Success (DLTSS) office is to support the University's Institutional Operational Plan through the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Teaching and Learning at the University of the Western Cape which affords challenging deliverables in relation to the goal of promoting excellence in teaching and learning at the University. This is an INTERNAL VACANCY.
Reporting to the Director: DLTSS, the successful candidate will assist in creating a positive image and working climate in the office of the Director's: DLTSS.
The appointee’s duties will include, but not be limited to, the administration and execution of the following tasks:
• Office and diary management skills, • Coordinating a wide variety of activities for the Director and other staff in the office, • Handling of office correspondence, • Internal and external client liaison, • Budget administration, • Responsible for national and international flight bookings, • Event co-ordination, • Developing and maintaining systems to support information management and preparation for meetings, • Administrating institutional commitments on behalf of the Director's office, • Ensuring an efficient filing system, • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality, • Minute taking at committees and other meetings.
Requirements (Qualification and Experience):
• A Senior Certificate and at least 3 years proven secretarial/administrative experience; • Demonstrated communicative, organisational, and interpersonal skills; • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and without supervision; • Familiarity with the Teaching and Learning environment would be an advantage; • Computer literacy and working knowledge of the MAS, InforLN and the Student Enrolment Management systems to monitor early warning reports is essential. The following would be advantageous: • A Bachelor’s Degree
