The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is a research-led institution recognized nationally and internationally for its sustained contribution to democratic change in South Africa. The Faculty of Arts & Humanities seeks to appoint a Lecturer in a permanent position in the Department of Historical Studies. This is one of the leading History Departments on the continent, with a record of innovative research and teaching in the fields of African History, Public & Visual History, Museum & Heritage Studies, Forensic History, Activism & Archives, Oral History and Experimental Writing. The Department is a large cohort with a large cohort of postgraduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute in significant ways to research, teaching, and supervision, as well as to perform normal administrative tasks and duties.
